Fairfields School is a community day special school for pupils aged 3 to 11 years.  The school meets the needs of pupils who have significant, severe or profound learning difficulties and sensory impairments.  Some of our children may have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.  The school is situated in a large well-maintained grounds close to the centre of Northampton.  Work with us and you will be part of an ambitious team who want to make a real difference.

We are looking for a lunchtime supervisor to join our staff team.  We need a friendly, caring person to support our pupils during the mid-day break. Working hours are 11.30am - 1.30pm. 

We would like someone who is:

  • flexible
  • approachable
  • enjoys being with children
  • able to work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative
  • willing to provide the necessary level of support that out pupils need to be as independent as possible during lunchtime.

Our children would really like someone who:

  • Supports them when things get tough
  • Helps them to be as independent as possible
  • Is a good communicator

We have a great opportunity for someone who is seeking an apprenticeship role.  You will work in a reception / admin role and be fully supported to achieve a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification.  Training and support will mainly be carried out on site with a requirement to attend a local drop in centre for half a day per month. Apprenticeship wage applies (£3.90/hour).

The role will be varied and working within team of 5.  The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, reliable, patient and calm.
